Navigating the holidays is real.
Just like the email exchange I'm about to share with you, that I had with a dear friend (about our visit this weekend).
Let's call her Catherine.
I simply couldn't write a better story for the 12 Days of Christmas.
Thank you Catherine.
Yesterday, December 13th
"Can't wait! Managing expectations re: food... I'm not sure we'll have time to go shopping between now and then! Kids have practice tonight from 6-8, then we're going to try to buy our tree after practice. Tomorrow night I'm out at a client event. Company coming Friday night, then a cocktail party we've been invited to starting at 9 pm Friday (we'll see about that one!), so food is whatever is in the freezer at the moment. Also, the tree may be in a tree stand but not decorated! Lol."
"My dearest Catherine, please let go of any expectation, stress or pressure around our visit. We are coming to see you and the family - the humans - not the food, not the tree. No judgement about what you have or have not done. We will probably be stuffed after our Christmas lunch [we're celebrating an early Christmas with my side of the family]. A big, squeezy hug, seeing your faces, spending time together, and a good chat will more than fill my heart. PS - You might be interested in the 12 Days of Christmas (a gift from the heart) I'm writing. Help navigating the holidays. You can find on my FB or my blog (www.christinenobleseller.com). It's not another thing to add to your to-do-list. Just know you're not alone. Be gentle with yourself and breathe."

"Oh I love you!!!! For so many reasons and in so many ways! I can't wait to go read the blog. Gotta put child to bed. I'll write more tomorrow if I can. Can't wait to see and hug you. My soul is more filled already! Xoxoxoxoxo"
This is the stuff real life is made of. People. Connections. Love.
Be there for one another.
Love to you,
PS - Deeper than seeing and reading the words, did you feel them?
