You've got a problem. You can think this through, right?
Today's tip is for all the days, or moments (holiday season or not) you feel lost for answers. Stuck in your head. When your thoughts go round and round like the clothes on the spin cycle in your dryer. You're seeking answers for problems yet thinking only makes things worse. Like spinning your car wheels in a snow drift or mud puddle, you're going nowhere.
Albert Einstein said "we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them". He was a genius. I think he's onto something.
Need help shifting out of your head? Out of the bottleneck. Back into the fullness of your being. Into the wisdom of the heart.
How to move into the wisdom of your heart.
Find a quiet space. Get comfy. Take a few deep, calming breaths. Three usually does the trick.
Place your hand (or both hands), whichever is more comfortable, over your heart.
Breathe. Feel your chest rise and fall. Rhythmically. Naturally. Feel the breath as you inhale. Feel the breath as you exhale. Relaxed. Calm, soft, steady breathing.
Now ask your heart what it wants you to know. And. Now. Listen.
Listen for a quiet, soft voice. It may comes as an impression, a feeling, a sense, or thought. If you get anxious, your (thinking) mind will kick in and fill your head with thoughts. Noise. Let it go and drift like the clouds. Don't be afraid to ask again if you feel you haven't heard. What do you want me to know? This may take practice. If you feel frustrated, take a break and come back to it.
When your heart speaks simply listen or choose to engage. Ask questions. Ask for confirmation. Feel. Experience the connection of this deep knowing.
Thank the wisdom of your heart.
